Log-on Password Repair
WHAT IT IS WERE DOING
If you press the shift key 5 times quickly a Sticky
Key dialog box shows up like this...even at the logon
Without the bar-gon markings...of course!
It is the sethc.exe file that brings up
the Sticky Keys dialog box; so then, if we replace the sethc file with the cmd.exe file (command prompt...your ticket
in!) and then press the shift key 5 times, we
will get a command prompt with administrator privileges even
at the log-on screen because no user has yet logged
THIS ONLY WORKS
IF YOU AREN'T LOGGED-IN!! (how
Then using the
Command Prompt window you can access control to delete or add any or all
Log-on Passwords and thereby go right into windows with no more delay.
This probably sounds tricky if not
difficult, but I promise, this will be simpler than you thought; and when
you complete your mission...you feel pretty good that you and not a
program fixed the PC. So lets get to it!
This 'Ethical Hack' has no side effects or repercussions and is totally reversible.
And is completely
legal to do to your own PC.
Follow the instructions below
1. Press the power button to
turn on your computer. If your computer is already on, please shut it
power back on. When you see the screen with the animated Microsoft logo (as
seen below) press and hold the power button
until the PC is completely off.
When you see the screen above shut down
At this exact time,
force shutdown the computer by holding down the power button
until the computer turns
A manual shut-down at this precise moment
alerts the computer of a "Windows Error"
in-turn when rebooted will automatically bring up the Repair Console.
3. Once off, press the power button to turn on your
Your PC will now boot to the WINDOWS ERROR RECOVERY screen. On that screen you will see a list of options:
'Start Windows Normally
and another to Launch Startup
.........Select the option 'Launch Startup Repair' and press
You should then be taken to a window where you can choose from another list of options similar to what you see below.
, normally the 1st on the list.
You will then be taken to a window with a blue progress bar moving across the screen repeatedly.
Below it should be messages that says "searching for problems" or something similar.
The message should change to "Attempting repairs" within a few minutes.
Fact is, we are not trying to repair anything. This is simply the path to the back door (the process).
Leave the computer running. This message will be there for about 10-40 minutes depending on your computer. Be patient!
After 10-40 minutes, a message should pop up that says "start up repair could not fix the
" or "startup repair could not detect a problem
Click the arrow next to "view problem details"
as shown in the red circle below.
Scroll to the bottom of the
problem detail screen and you should see two blue hyperlinks.One
leads to a website, and another leads to a text file. Click the link to
the .txt file
11. You should now be looking a notepad file
as seen below. Here you will click File in the top left corner, then from the menu-bar that
appears click Open.
This is a BACK DOOR into your pc without having to
LOG-IN and will now give you access to make the necessary changes for resetting
your Windows Log-on Passworrd.
OK, this is where your part comes
Now that we are in go to C:\Windows\system32 and find sethc.exe.
Depending on your Hard
Drive configuration...you may have your Window's operating system on a different
Drive letter: D or E..
Hover over it and Right–click
for the menu > choose to Rename
NOTE: in rare
circumstances it my be necessary to change PERMISSIONS on a file before you can
work with it.

Change this file's name to.... sethc.exe.bak.
Chances are you rarely if ever use Sticky Keys, so
we will make better use of the "5 key tap"; If you do make use
of Sticky Keys regularly you can just reverse what we do here once you get back
in to Windows.
If you get a message like below, just click yes and continue. We are only storing the ORIGINAL for back-up... not
currently using it, so all is right.15
. Next; in the same folder, scroll up and find
file and right click your menu >

Next: right click your menu > choose
Notice the name of the file you just
pasted cmd - Copy.exe;
now we need to rename it; so
hover over it and right click
your menu >
We are now ging to name this file the
OK ! That's it you have created you
Magic Door ....ready to try it?
off/Restart the computer and when you get
to your log-in screen tap the "shift" key 5 times quickly.
You should be seeing the screen below now; this is called an elevated
command prompt...that is you magic
21. Type in the cmd window "control userpasswords2" without
the quotation marks and then hit the ENTER button.
If any PERMISSION boxes pop up, click to continue. This
is the Key to the Magic Door!
If you are
looking at a User Accounts Dialog box then your door and
key worked. Good job! Here is where you can reset any password on any account
you choose, or add or delete accounts. Here is how to reset your passwordDo these steps in this
1. Choose the Users
tab at the top
right of the box.
2. Choose which account you want to reset by clicking and
3. Now click the Reset Password button
23. Once you click Reset Password
the box below will appear.You do not need to know the old password to set
a New one. Fill in both boxes: New Password and Confirm new password, then click [OK]

You can change the file
sethc.exe back if you like or leave it and always know you have your own "Secret
Hack Back Door"
